Looking out the window

Seeing tomorrow's ntama sweeps the skies

Like the royal child's kite of butterfly colors

... O could that really be ?

That the clothe she is trying hard to weave today may reach up to the

heavens

And fetching the admiration of the lighting God

Whose clouds of silver stool it will cover...

"Kai !"

Yet the ghost of yesterday still

Still rides in her mind

Looking out the window

Wide eyes

Narrowed eyes

Closed eyes

Unconscious mind...

Dumsor brain!

And

And o

Yes

Beautiful

Lovely

I want this

I am going for that

Mine…

All mine!

I belong

I believe...

Not again Agh!

  • Ntama is literally a cloth or material usually wrapped around the body in the traditional Ghanaian and Akan home.

  • Dumsor is Akan reference to the off and on light situation in Ghana. "aaagh an exclamation sound of displeasure.
