A dream away

For Jibril Mailafia

Though I didn’t get to face with it

In my mind’s eyes

I am able to tell

The gruesomeness of how your young

Promising life got wrenched out

From it beautiful helpless vessel

Makes my heart cry out

as if

Having to taste some bites off the murderous knives hmm!

I have enjoyed your ever smiling face even when it hides mischief

And also found your worn stone cold face even cute

To your annoyance during our Misunderstandings at times

But never!

Never could I have imagined such images

Of pain and anguished on your face

Couldn’t possibly think of the cruelty of death

to get so close this early

and worse

Grab a precious gift like you from me- Us

– A peaceful loving and caring Being

You have been

The world was blessed with your…

I looked forward to experiencing you always In every breath and struggles

…To the achievements

Your precious time and energy you gave

And so much more

You were both a beautiful dream plus

A practical reality I couldn’t see to be Doing without

But here now

A horror it all turned to be

instead of just a freaking fictional creation to

Excite over

Reading and hearing all the questions

the “Why?s

– Where?s

and The Who?s”

… In devastation

All I could ask

Is a miracle

-To bring you back

Back from where you have forcibly gone

Bring you back to …

Yet,

Would I not be too selfish

May it be that you have not only gone

But also found a better residence

Compared to this

This awful world

We are made to journey

Journey in longing

In

Confusion

Thing is

We all are going to be over!

We get to be over

one way or the other

Hence we are expected to accept

the usual “Bye ”

when it’s one’s turn

But then

Not all byes - that goes good at a wave

Oh some byes be ..

” Bad-Bye!”

And None can deny the pain of a loss

Even in completion of the life mission

Come to talk of burying with dreams

instead of bye bye in made memories

Like you said to me

…In once upon times

” We are written in the stars”

So now

I am just going to look up into the sky

Whenever it projects its beauty of

Of Stars

And console myself with the hope that

Comes what may

You are just dreams away
